Russia warns of nuclear, hypersonic deployment if Sweden and Finland join NATO

One of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s closest allies warned NATO on Thursday that if Sweden and Finland joined the U.S.-led military alliance then Russia would deploy nuclear weapons and hypersonic missiles in a European exclave.

US inflation hits 4-decade high in March

Since last year, inflation in the US has been high, but it has reached a record high level in March. Much of this can be attributed to the price hike of oil amidst the Russia-Ukraine war. Furthermore, the new lockdown exercised by China to curb the spread of Covid-19 can exacerbate the constraints in the supply chain, which will affect inflation.

Twitter (TWTR.N) Chief Executive Officer Parag Agrawal sought to reassure employees during an all-hands meeting on Thursday that the company was not being “held hostage” by news of Elon Musk’s offer to buy the company, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters.

Covid-19 variant ‘XE’: India reports 1st case

India’s Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) reported the first case of the new Covid-19 variant “XE” in India. A fifty-year-old woman traveling from SouthAfrica who was asymptomatic has been identified as the carrier of the new strain. WHO has deemed this variant of Covid-19 as the most transmissible strain of Covid-19.
