লিখেছেনঃ সামিয়া তাহসীন হক বাংলাদেশের সংবিধান জনসাধারণের ক্ষেত্রে নারী ও পুরুষের সমান অধিকারকে স্বীকৃতি দেয়। নারীর অধিকার নিশ্চিত করার জন্য যুক্তিসঙ্গতভাবে এদেশে শক্তিশালী আইন ও নীতিকাঠামোর অস্তিত্ব রয়েছে। এরই ধারাবাহিকতায় বাংলাদেশ ১৯৮৪ সালে CEDAW (Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women) সম্মেলনে স্বাক্ষর করে এবং এর ধারাগুলো বাস্তবায়ন করতে অঙ্গীকারবদ্ধ হয়।
